Hilarious Brit comedian and actor Eddie Izzard was not the initial inspiration for the play CAKE OR DEATH, but was the reason the three creators connected when they did some show together many, many moons ago. Then years later, upon choosing a title for their script (whose original title was "Loop Hole"), they found to their surprise that the phrase "cake or death" itself fit perfectly with their story.
